About Me

I'm Ms. Denita and I've been blessed to serve students from pre-school to graduate school for over 30 years!
As a former children’s modeling instructor, I've worked with kids of all ages, boosting their self-esteem and affirming their individuality. The lessons I taught were not only preparation for the children's modeling industry, but more importantly, instilled self-confidence to soar in school, activities, social situations, at home, and everywhere!
I've worked as a juvenile residential facility social worker, providing care and support to children ages 11-17 and to families of limited resources. As a school disciplinarian, I turned challenging behavior into teachable moments for children in K through 8th grade and helped educators hone their classroom management skills. And, as a coordinator for a federal education program, I developed and delivered interactive life skill lessons for 6th through 12th grade students and their parents.
I earned a BA in Administration of Justice, Master of Leadership Development, and Project Management Certificate all from Penn State University. And most importantly, I'm a proud GiGi of 4 Blue Butterflies!

"Working with Denita and her students at Barbizon Modeling and Talent Agency was always a highlight of my photography career. Her students—ranging in age from 2 to 10—were consistently well-prepared, focused, and well-behaved, even during long, demanding photo sessions. Denita’s presence, guidance, and ability to maintain structure and enthusiasm made every shoot a success. Her leadership and skill in working with young talent truly set her apart."

"Denita is a truly transformative instructor whose grace, warmth, and leadership leave a lasting impact. Her ability to nurture confidence and poise in young children is unmatched—turning nerves into empowerment and challenges into proud moments. As a parent, I was continually impressed by her professionalism, kindness, and the trust she inspired. Denita doesn’t just teach confidence—she lives it, models it, and passes it on to everyone lucky enough to work with her."

"Denita taught over 300 children (ages 3-8) skills related to Modeling, Acting, and Personal Development. Specific topics included, but were not limited to: Runway, Photo Posing, Posture, Character Development, Self Confidence, Manners, Public Speaking, and Self Care. In addition, she instructed our older students when needed, and worked backstage at our annual graduations. She proved to be reliable, dependable, and personable. She was always well prepared, and had the ability to create an amazing rapport with her students and their parents. She cared about everyone, and was a pleasure to work with."

"I am excited for the kids that will be working with Ms. Denita. I cannot think of a more compassionate professional to work with youth. I have witnessed firsthand the unwavering dedication and caring for children on her caseload, and many times not on her caseload at Sleighton School. Her cognitive behavior groups, and one -on-one counselling made each child feel free to express themselves without being judged. The children knew that they could count on her to advocate for them and their families in a complex legal system. Sleighton School has long since closed, and the kids on her caseload have grown up, and they keep in contact with her today. The world needs more professionals like Ms. Denita."
